Colour varies from pink-red to dark red. Fine straight grain that is also often figured, producing decorative moiré or watered silk appearance. Similar to Tasmanian Myrtle. Figured logs are so common that figured Makore is sold as an option in veneer. Being both stable and of high durability uses are unlimited.
